RANGER, W.Va. — McGinnis Christian Jr., 60 of Ranger, departed this life Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at his residence.

Born January 10, 1952, in Matewan, he was a son of the late McGinnis and Luraine Wiley Christian. Also preceding him in death were two granddaughters, Tiffany Christian and Alley Carver; one nephew, Roger Ferrell; mother-in-law, Sadie Vance, and his sister-in-law, Chris Christian.

McGinnis was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting, working outside and spending time with his grandkids and family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lillie Mae Vance Christian; two daughters, Julie (Eric) Runyon of Chapmanville and Dru (A.J.) Cooper of Ranger; two sons, Bob (Donna) Christian of Ranger and Jamie (Becky) Christian of Little Harts; four sisters, Susie (Bill) Ferrell, Lou Ann (Cleve) Combs and Violet (Charlie) Combs, all of Harts, and Ruby (Thomas) Dingess of Big Creek; five brothers, Darrell Christian and Larry (Kathy) Christian, both of Ranger, Joe (Patsy) Christian of Madison, Tom (Shelia) Christian of Limestone, and Keister (Dale) Christian of Big Ugly; 16 grandchildren, LaCrisha, Cora, Caleb, Tylere, Tara, Ashley, Kristie, Zack, Lloyd, Sadie, Deborah, Josh, Kobe, Kayla, Jonathan and Samantha, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 14, at Freeman Funeral Home with Calvin Porter officiating. Burial will follow at the Browning Cemetery at Gartins Knob at Harts.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Dickie, J.C., C.J., Phillip and Corey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Freeman Funeral Home.

Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
